My Name is Y… M to the C A


Looking at this announcements of the Y’s new brand we find ourselves presented with three possible scenarios.

  1. It is a total coincidence that the headline paraphrases Jay-Z
  2. The Y is intentionally including cunning pop-culture references into its marketing materials in order to “engage the kids”.
  3. Someone in the office was given the task of writing the headlines and realized that there was a chance (albeit a slim one) that they could smuggle a bit of Hova into the YMCA newsletter without anyone noticing.

This is a vote for scenario 3, and a quiet round of applause for this unsung hero. Know that at least one person saw your work and celebrates your cunning.
